Born in 1984, Dr. Martin Weingarten is an expert in the fields of microelectronics and nanoelectronics, optoelectronics and automotive engineering, in particular electrical and electronic vehicle systems.

He studied Materials Science at RWTH Aachen University, specialising in nanotechnology and electronic materials during his master's degree. Mr. Weingarten successfully completed his master's degree in 2011. He was then employed as a research assistant at the Faculty of Electrical Engineering and Information Technology at RWTH Aachen University until 2017, where he worked on his doctorate on the topic of solar cells based on a combination of organic and inorganic materials.

As part of his work as a research assistant, Mr. Weingarten also worked on power electronics as well as organic and inorganic LEDs/lasers. In 2018, Mr. Weingarten was conferred the academic degree "Doktor der Naturwissenschaften" (Doctor of Natural Sciences, Dr. rer. nat.).

Since August 2017, Mr. Weingarten has been employed at terpatent and supports the team of patent attorneys in all areas of traditional patent attorney services, in particular in conducting novelty searches, drafting patent applications and conducting patent grant procedures. Mr. Weingarten became a European Patent Attorney in 2021.

Mr. Weingarten is a member of the Institute of the European Representatives (EPI).
